Charleston Tea Plantation Home of American Classic Tea

Charleston Tea Plantation
We enjoy exploring and going on mini-adventures as a family.  We recently went to visit the only tea plantation in America, the Charleston Tea Plantation. Even though it is winter I think it's beautiful. I never tire of seeing the old moss laden trees of the Lowcountry.
Baby tea plants
We toured the greenhouse where tiny tea plants were growing from cuttings.  Very interesting to me. Don't you love the pretty little tea blossom?
Rows of tea plants
The Charleston Tea plantation is located on Wadmalaw Island just a short drive from downtown Charleston. Lovely scenery and lots of varieties of tea samples. Our whole family enjoyed the outing.
January is National Hot Tea Month. Here in the south we like our tea ice cold & SWEET! But whichever way you prefer American Classic Tea is great hot or cold. I hope to see it in stores all across the nation!

The Perfect imperfect photo

Our wonderful children!
It is evident that I am not a professional photographer.  There is so much not right about this picture that I took of my kids.  I was trying to get the perfect picture for our Christmas cards this past Christmas.  After taking 219 pictures of the kids that day on the beach there was not a single picture that had each of them looking at the camera at the same time, smiling & eyes open.  Every picture had someone blinking, turning the wrong way, in shadows, frowning etc.....you get the picture! Finally, when I saw this picture after downloading them all. I knew this was the one for our card.  This picture showed the personality of each of the kids.  Yes by photography standards there is a lot of imperfection in this photo, shadows, other people in the background, the kids not posing perfectly. But it is the perfect picture because they were having fun and their personality came out in the photo. I will always treasure this one as the Perfect Christmas card photo.

My apologies for not keeping this blog current. There are times when the pulls & tugs of life cause us to have to let some things go. It's hard to believe that over a year of time has taken place since I last posted anything.  Since there is way too much to even attempt to catch up on I think I will just move forward!
Our son & his beautiful fiancé
Our family is so excited about this upcoming year. We will be getting another daughter! Our son will be getting married in May and we are thrilled!  He proposed early this last fall.  He got down on one knee at the foot of the cross and asked her to be his wife. Each time I see this picture of the proposal, I smile.

The proposal at "Pretty Place" NC
Knowing that they both want Christ to be the focus of their lives makes me incredibly happy! I'm so excited to see what God is going to do with their lives.
