Summer officially arrived today and along with it the temperature outside decided it would celebrate by climbing to 100 degrees. It is HOT and HUMID outside. But hey, I am not complaining because this southern girl loves the heat. Summer is my favorite season. However I am thankful for air conditioning when the temperature climbs this high. So what do you do with the kids when it's this hot outside? Take them to your local library! We love out local library and every year the children sign up for the summer reading program. Here are my youngest 3 mortified that I would take my camera to the library and take their picture.

Our library has a neat scavenger hunt going on right now. The kids have to figure out where the items are in the library from clues that they received from the librarian. Some of the clues were really hard!

The kids get prizes every week for their reading. I am fortunate that my children love to read and do not really need incentives to read. But it sure is nice to get a little treat like a free ice cream cone on a hot summer day.

If the heat is getting to you and you need a great, free activity go check out your local library.

One of my favorite things about livng in the south....spanish moss. I took this picture last week down in the low country of SC. The moss was swaying in the breeze while I sat back drinking sweet tea and enjoying God's creativity.

Our Graduate!

We are proud parents!
Big day today as child #2 graduated from high school!
Oldest son graduating from high school
We are so proud of him! He made it through high school with a 4.0 taking honors and AP courses while wrestling for 3 of those years and being active in our local church. We are VERY PROUD parents to say the least. We are also excited about his future as he has plans to be a medical missionary. We know God has great things planned for our son's future and we can't wait to watch it unfold! Congratulations son!!!!
Here he is below with his siblings at a graduation dinner our church gave to honor the graduates.
