Sunday Grace

I am not a big fan of country music(my apologies to all you country music fans out there), but there are some country songs that I really like and I do happen to be a fan of some country music singers and groups. I especially like Craig Morgan and his song that's called "That's what I love about Sunday". My family affectionately calls it "the Sunday Song"! We like to put the cd in on the way home from church and belt it out on the way home. We each have our favorite lines of the song that we sing. My favorite part is "there's .35 cents off of ground round, baby cut that coupon out". The kids always laugh at me when I sing that part!!!! (I do clip coupons, by the way!)
Anyway, Sunday is my favorite day of the week. I enjoy the quietness of early Sunday mornings and listening to worship music as we get ready for church.
I love coming home from church and having a big meal with my family. I like to make it special by pulling out the nice dishes and putting all the food on the table with serving dishes and we pass the dishes around. We always go around the table and ask what did they talk about in Sunday School, what did they learn from the sermon, etc. These have been such special times in our family over the years. May today be a special day for you and your family.

Is it really almost the end of March? It is hard to believe 3 months into this new year have already passed us by. I am supposed to be a new woman by now according to my new year's resolutions. I should be a lot lighter, more organized, better disciplined.....need I go on? Let's just say that I am thankful that I am a work in progress and that God is not finished with me yet. I have been participating in a Bible study since January that is unlike any study I have ever done. The Study is called Becoming the Woman God Wants Me To Be: A 90 Day Guide To Living the Proverbs 31 Life.

This has been a wonderful study that has helped me to meet some of my resolutions for the new year. Granted, I am still working on some of those goals (especially the weight loss goal) but I have definitely benefitted from participating in this study.

Something else I have benefitted from over the years is the music ministry of Don Moen. I was thrilled today when I came accross this image introducing a new release from him. I listened to a few clips and I definitely will be clicking on the CBD button below and ordering this one.

What I am Reading

I just received a copy of Pam Farrel's newest book called Woman of Confidence. I could hardly wait to tear open the package and dive right in. I enjoy Pam's writing style and had been encouraged by one of her other books Woman of Influence.

I stumbled across a blog recently that I have to tell you about. I love all things southern, southern sayings, southern food, southern style and this blog http://etiquettewithmissjanice.blogspot.com/ dishes out a deep dish serving of southern grace. So mosie on over to Miss Janice's blog and enjoy her southern style and flare. I adore the outfits she comes up with, she makes me want to go spruce up my wardrobe a bit!

Thinking along the lines of what to wear and sprucing up my wardrobe, I have really been in the mood to do some sewing. It has been many years since I have made something for myself so I think it's high time I did. There are some really great fabrics that have come out in the sewing market recently and I am thinking of making some summer skirts for me and my daughters. My favorite place to shop for fabric is here at the creative-sewing-machine-center.

Do you find it hard to put together delicious family meals that are easy to put together and everybody in the family likes? I had that problem too until I heard about this website www.e-mealz.com. I have used emealz for my family off and on for several years now. I just recently re-subscribed and boy has it ever made my life easier! My family tonight raved over our supper of balsamic mushroom chicken over rice, green beans, buttered corn and dinner rolls. It was so easy and so delicious! (Healthy too)! You can find the link right here on my blog and mention that I referred you! You're gonna thank me for letting you know about this!!!!!

Snow Day?

In my neck of the woods we see snow so rarely that even the hint of snow causes everything to shut down. So school was canceled today because we were expecting snow. Did we get any? Nope, I didn't see a single snowflake. We did enjoy the down time though. I actually read a book. I read Karen Kingsbury's This Side of Heaven. Quite a tear jerk er, but very thought provoking.
